REMINISCENCE sessions
Every Wednesday morning!
Reminiscence is a session for carers of people with dementia, whereby their loved ones can spend time with us for an hour or two using our collection of memory prompting resources.
Dementia Friendly Keighley offers a friendly and professional service free of charge in the office at College Walk, Airedale Shopping Centre, Keighley.
The sessions provide a variety of stimulating and enjoyable activities so that people with dementia can enjoy social time with us and with each other whilst their main carer enjoys a cuppa and a chat with other carers. Refreshments are served on arrival and half way through the session.
Sessions are held 10.00 am – 12.30 pm and include:
- Reminiscence
- Simple quizzes, games & jigsaws
- Arts & crafts
- Singing & music
- Gentle seated exercise
- Classic films/comedy on DVD
This is a free service but donations are welcome

The services provided by Dementia Friendly Keighley have benefitted our family massively as it allows mum the space she needs to be able to spend time other carers without mum worrying about grandma and her care. The Drop In staff and volunteers do a great job of settling their visitors and making them feel comfortable which is hard to find when people with memory problems are so easily confused and worried. My grandma has made friends here and found a safe space she enjoys away from the family
