Volunteering
Dementia Friendly Keighley is a voluntary organisation and is supported by invaluable volunteers. We are currently looking for more volunteers, to enable us to provide and expand our range of much needed services, to people living with dementia, as well as their carers.
Our volunteers provide a range of support in the local area and give up their time from a few hours a month to a few hours a week or at a one-off event. Could you spare some time to help?

Volunteer Roles
Dementia Friendly Keighley have a range of roles in the local area from supporting a one-off event to supporting a weekly activity. The tasks we have may change from time to time and new roles develop, so please contact us to discuss the options available at the time of your enquiry.
To support the Dementia Friendly Keighley projects you do not need to have a full understanding of dementia or have experience of someone living with dementia. But you may have other skills that would support the roles such as:
- Enjoyment in talking and listening to people
- Fundraising
- Marketing
- Supporting the drop-in sessions
- Assisting with creative and activity sessions
Anyone who volunteers will be invited to attend a Dementia Friends Session and may be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, formerly known as Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
Do you have a skill or interest you’d like to share?
